Seasons of Belgrade Lakes

The loons return, the flowers bloom, and all is green and fair.

In Belgrade Lakes, it’s time to break out the hiking boots and celebrate spring.

All around you, life reawakens, and thaws and stretches … but just an hour north, the flakes still beckon. Enjoy spring skiing into April at Sugarloaf and Saddleback ski areas.

Warm and sunny, with a splash of lake fun, a dash of outdoor adventure and a pinch of lazy days.

Take full advantage of the local chain of lakes, and canoe or kayak out for a visit with the loons and osprey. For a faster view of the lakes, rent a power boat instead. Possibly the best way to get around on the water, though, is to ride along on the mailboat, one of the few remaining U.S. Postal water routes. The inspiration for “On Golden Pond”, the Belgrade mailboat has been an area tradition for decades.

Golf at nationally reknown Belgrade Lakes Golf Course, just a mile away. Need more? Visit our “local attractions” page to learn about the other area golf spots.

All sound just a tad too exerting? You don’t need to step foot off the grounds for a perfect summer afternoon. Sip a little something refreshing out by the gardens, in the double hammock swing, or on your deck. Play horseshoes on the lawn, or take in the music of the waterfall from the Adirondack chairs in view of Long Pond.

Colors that must be seen to be believed, and a touch of crisp, fresh air. It’s the perfect time to view the village from high above, to appreciate all the splendor of the foliage season.

The weather’s still mild — just right for a round of golf or an afternoon on the lake — and the scenery is at its peak.

Red and gold and green and yellow … bring your camera along, because we know all the best spots to take in the magic.

A winter wonderland … outside, Nature’s artisic shadows and reflections; the lakes and the mountains look like a postcard, blanketed in soft, clean, bright snow.

Explore by snowshoes or cross-country skis, or schuss to your heart’s content at Sugarloaf, Camden Snowbowl, or nearby Titcomb’s downhill trails.

Inside, cozy moments by the fire … playing cards or reading a novel, enjoying popcorn and hot chocolate, and savoring the fresh-baked cookies at tea time.

With the holiday lights and seasonal decorations, Belgrade Lakes’ small town charm really shines.
